This course is designed for maritime professionals who want to understand and apply risk assessment on board ships. Participants will learn the basic terminology of risk assessment, the connection with the ISM Code, and how risk management helps to protect people, property, and the environment.
The training covers:

-
How to use a risk matrix to measure probability and consequences.
-
The ALARP principle: keeping risks as low as reasonably practicable.
-
Control measures: management, engineering, and operational methods.
-
Continuous improvement: reviewing assessments, learning from accidents and near misses.
By the end of this course, learners will be able to recognize hazards, evaluate risks, and apply effective control measures. They will also understand how to support their company’s Safety Management System and contribute to safer ship operations.
